“Ephata Laudato Si” is a  group of people from the Down and Connor Diocese whose aim is to raise awareness of The Encyclical “Laudato Si” (2015) inspired by Pope Francis, “On Care for Our Common Home.”

A film, “The Letter” based on the themes explored in Laudato Si, emphasising the cry of the Earth and the cry of the Poor was screened in St Teresa’s Parish Centre on Wednesday 7th June to an audience of parishioners from the area Parish Community. This was one of a number of showings in parishes throughout the Diocese, including St Brigid’s and St Mary’s to mark Laudato Si Week.

The encyclical reminds us that:

“Due to an ill-considered exploitation of nature, humanity runs the risk of destroying it and becoming in turn a victim of this degradation.” (Pope Paul VI 1971)

The Season of Creation 2023 will take place from 1st September to 4th October 2023, concentrating on our need to Care for Our Common Home. Details of events and activities related to this period may be found at following link
