A warm welcome to the website of the Parish of St Teresa of Ávila, Belfast!
Our Parish, on the Glen Road in Belfast, is part of the Pastoral Community of West Belfast and is one of the largest parishes in the Diocese of Down and Connor. It began life one hundred years ago on 15th October 1911 as part of the country parish of Derriaghy, a parish already steeped in rich ecclesiastical history. Since then it has grown to become the parish that it is today, with three churches, three schools and over 11,000 people.

Church of the Holy Spirit: Fr Gabriel, Parish Priest, and Mr Phil Molloy, Chair of the Parish Pastoral Council, along with Fr Liam welcome Fr Angelos to the Vigil Mass. For more than 9 years, parishioners of St Teresa’s Parish have gathered to celebrate a Saturday Vigil Mass in the Church of the Holy Spirit at 5pm. The Saturday evening Vigil Mass is well attended and seems to be very convenient for the congregation. While there may be an occasional Funeral or Wedding celebration held during the week, the church building is generally not used by the parish on a Sunday. Fr Aidan McCaughan, a former curate in our parish, celebrates the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood this week. A special Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated in St Peter’s Cathedral on Tuesday 23 June at 7.30pm with light refreshments to follow in the Immaculata Youth Club.
